London

London is the commercial epicentre of England and the UK. It is the largest city in the country and is also one of the leading business and financial centres in the world. The city dates back to the Roman times and has been at the centre of many religious and political movements. It is the home of the British government (except Scottish parliament), the Prime minister lives at 10 Downing Street, it contains both the house of lords and the house of commons, which both make important political decisions and pass new laws.

London itself is a very beautiful city and there is an amazing assortment of things to see, hear and do. Great achievements of engineering include Tower Bridge and London Bridge and it is possible to see both of these from some of the many tours that operate on both the river and on the classic London buses. Madam Tussaud’s wax museum is a very popular attraction which features life-like wax figurines of famous actors, film stars, musicians, political figures and anyone else you can think of!

There are a number of venues where it is possible to see bands, plays or shows and there is always something to do every night of the week. Getting around is relatively easy with buses running all over the city and of course the famous London cabbies. I would recommend London for a day or night out as it is a very exciting and vibrant city.
